Homework

Formatting on this website leaves a lot to be desired.  So, as soon as the Google Classroom is up and fully functional, all homework will simply be posted on that platform.

If a student does not finish their classwork during the class then it becomes homework automatically.  The homework assignments are not the students' only graded work.  Much of the graded assignments before Sept. 13 were done in class due to the fact that not all students had computers, and we don't have any text books to issue.  From the week of Sept. 13 forward the assignments for class and for home will be posted so that students who are absent can keep up.  It is the students' responsibility in middle school to check the homework section of the board when they return to see what assignments they have missed, and to obtain any worksheets or other materials from the absence folder.

The Science Notebook model that I keep will be available in Verge Resources so that students can see what may have been done during class.  They will need to copy that into their own Science Notebooks on the designated pages.  The students will not be using their notebooks to take random notes or other activities, so they will need to follow the Table of Contents as shown in the model notebook.

Verge will also direct you to the other resources   Please contact [email protected] if you need help finding the assignments.  Sometimes homework assignments are changed after they are posted.  Students are required to write down their homework for each class, each day, when they go to class.  Any changes because of interruptions (like a fire drill, or a class not moving fast enough to be ready for an assignment) will be adjusted on the homework board in the classroom.  This may vary by class.

Thursday:  If you were not successful in making a flipgrid, try again to do this tonight since we practiced in class. Friday:  Complete the poster on your assigned planet, based on the checklist and rubric. Write the sticky notes you will use during your presentation.  Make sure you can upload a picture of your poster, and practice making your presentation.  You can do it as many times as you want and review your presentation before you submit the final version on Monday night.
