Volleyball for 2024-2025
Are you interested in playing volleyball at HMS next school year?  If so, mark your calendars! Skills and Drills will be held on July 30th and tryouts will be on August 1st.  Tryouts are open to rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders and everyone participating must have all current paperwork uploaded to DragonFly.  For more information CLICK HERE to download the flyer, send an email to [email protected] or see Ms. Sturm.  All forms and info about Dragonfly can be downloaded from the HMS Athletics webpage.

HMS Basketball Camp
Are you interested in playing basketball this summer?  Coach Smith will be having the HMS Basketball Camp in June.   It is open to all rising 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th Grade boys and girls and will be held June 17th thru 19th at HMS from 9am-2pm.  The deadline to register is June 9th and the cost is $150, payable in cash, money order or a cashier's check.   For more information, CLICK HERE.  To sign up click on the REGISTRATION Form link.

HMS Library Books are Due
All books checked out from the HMS Library are now due. If you have a book from the HMS Library or any other DeKalb County School Library, please return it as soon as possible to HMS before the end of the school year.   Overdue notices were emailed to students and parents on May 9th, 2024.  Students should check their school email accounts for library overdue notices.  As a reminder, there are no fines for late books, but students are still expected to pay for lost books. If you have a lost book from HMS or other Dekalb schools, please see Mr. Mason in the library to pay for the books.  Only cash or money orders are accepted for payments.

HMS Spring Book Fair is Here!

The PTSA HMS Spring Bookfair is underway.  It is open May 4th - May 10th during the school day  and in the evenings for the Chorus and Orchestra Concerts and during Parent Conference night. Located in the HMS Library, students can come individually as long as they have a pass from their teacher or teachers can bring their classes.  Parents can add money to KidCredit accounts for students.  Please use the QR code below to add money to your child's account.

Drama Club Spring Production

Returning/New Student Registration for 2024-2025
As mandated by the DeKalb County School District, all parents/guardians of returning students must register online before the start of each school year.  Parents/guardians of students new to DCSD will need a Parent Portal Account to register. To Register:
  • CLICK HERE to visit the DCSD Registration Portal
  • Click on Current Student Annual Verification
  • Click on Current Student Annual Verification Application
  • Enter your User Name and Password to log in (If you don't already have an account you will need to create one)

Lakeside Cross Country
If you are a rising 8th grader or 9th grader and are thinking about participating in Lakeside High School’s Cross Country, there will be an interest meeting on Monday, April 29th at 6:00pm in the Lakeside Cafeteria.  Summer practice and the fall season will be discussed. HMS March Madness Winners
Our HMS Foundation March Madness fundraiser is over, and the HMS Foundation would like to thank everyone who participated.  We raised around $19,000 to support our students and teachers!.  And, the results are in from our March Madness competitions.  Our Money Wars winning team is Team 6D.  They win a Soda and Takis Party.  The winner of the Pizza and Prime party is Team 7D.  And,  Team 8D wins the Popsicle Party.  Congratulations to our winners and thank you for your donations!
