Students may be withdrawn from Coordinate Algebra or Accelerated Coordinate Algebra/Analytic Geometry A no later than the 35th day of the semester (6.5 weeks/ September 16, 2016). They will be placed in Math 8 (gifted-if your child is gifted or regular Math 8). Individual student/teacher preferences and or personality differences should not enter into the decision to remove a student from the program.
At the end of the 8th grade year, a student’s course code may not be changed due to an unwanted grade of B, C, D, or F on the student transcript. It is incumbent on the school staff to monitor student progress, so that any necessary withdrawal from course occurs no later than the 35th day of the semester (6.5 weeks).
A student currently taking Spanish of French, will receive one Carnegie Unit for high school and this grade will become part of their high school GPA. The date to withdraw from World Language was 1st semester of their 7th grade year.
