The Georgia Board of Education requires all students who are enrolled for credit in any of the courses listed below to take the Georgia End of Course (EOC) upon course completion. The following ten courses in Georgia have EOCs:
American Literature
Ninth Grade Literature and Composition
Biology
Physical Science
Economics
U.S. History
Coordinate Algebra
Analytic Geometry
Algebra I
Geometry
According to The Georgia Board of Education, the End-of-Course serves as the final exam for these courses listed above. The Board established a grade of 70 as the “passing score” for the End-of-Course and for all courses. For a student to receive credit for an End-of-Course Assessment, the average of the coursework and the EOC score must equal or exceed 70. (See Georgia SBOE rule 160-4-2-.13.
