In conjunction with the DeKalb County School District’s ongoing Anti-Bullying Campaign, February has been designated Cyberbullying Awareness Month. Teachers have been sent activities to conduct with their students to address the topic of cyberbullying. It will include what a student can do if they're being cyberbullied, the impact of cyberbullying on students, and consequences of this behavior.
In October, the Counseling team taught lessons in the classrooms on Resiliency, including Circles of Influence, Problem Solving, and Dealing With Stress. We will also be doing classroom guidance on all three grade levels in early March to address "Protocols for Student Reporting" as well as tips for stress management. Various tips for stress management have also been playing on the WHMS News Daily Broadcast.
