HMS Honors Club
 Induction information  was sent home on Monday 9/18/2017. Induction money due by Monday 9/25. Turn in form and dues to Ms. Mitchum in room 500. Induction Ceremony will be held 7th period on Thursday, Septemeber 28th at 3:00pm. Pass will be given out when you turn in your money.

Henderson Middle School Honors Club consists of 7th and 8th graders. 6th grade students(rising 7th grade students)  will have the opportunity to be inducted at the the beginning of the school year.

Meetings:
Our monthly meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of every month at 8:00am in the Cafeteria  Students must have their Honors Club Pass to enter the school building.

Requirements:
-attend monthly meetings (we will have sign in sheets at the meetings)
-participate in club projects
-complete 12 service hours
- grade point of 4.0 in 6th grade to be invited

Service Hours:
NJHS and Beta are service clubs. Each member must complete 12 hours of community service each year. Each member will be given a form where they are to log their hours of service. Honors Club projects can count towards their hours. Other ideas for community service: volunteer at church, food banks, animal shelters, nursing homes, or recycling centers.

October 1, 2013- Students wrote Thank You letters for the Military. 
November/December-  Give an Hour Service Project- requirements above
December 2013- Toys For Tots Drive (Students donated new toys to be given to needed children)
January 2014 - Health Kits- Students put together health kits to donate to a homeless shelter
February/March/April 2014- Teacher appreciation card

12-13:
November- Cans and Coins food Drive with Student Council 
December- Toys for Totes 

11-12:
October 4th - Students will be writing letters to troops that are overseas during the holidays. 
November 29th - Students will assemble Care Kits for the homeless thru Trinity Ministries 
December 13th - Toys for Tots
February - Students are collecting supplies to send to the homeless thru Trinity Ministries
March/April - Teacher appreciation Letters   

2010-2011:
Toys for Tots Drive- Dec 15th we had our Holiday Party/Toys for Tots Drive.
Oct. 2nd, Rivers Alive
Nov. 4th, Honors Club members wrote letters to soldiers in Afghanistan.

2009-2010:
Assemble health kits for people in Louisiana
